A Perfect Setting as of 23 September 2007Now that I have stitched two palm trees in the last two projects I am ready to move on to something else. This is especially the case after I have finished this palm tree, which turned out to be pretty tedious to stitch. I certainly wouldn’t be very surprised if I found some missed stitches when I come back through stitching the background color.

Luckily, the the background colors are more systematic and stitch up relatively quickly, so when I was frustrated with the palm tree I could work one something a little more relaxing.

I am beginning to think that it won’t be too ling before I am actually working on the house, which is, of course, the real subject of the picture.

A Perfect Setting as of 4 Mar 2007This is another chart that I have had for a long time. It is a picture of a house complete with palm trees.

This is the second Graphs by Barbara and Cheryl project that I am working on. I like these charts because the different colors are in relatively large, easy-to-stitch blocks. Even though the pieces are large, I feel like I accomplish quite a bit in the ten hours of my rotation.

I am a little disappointed, however. The picture on the front of the chart makes the grass surrounding the house look pale green. As I started to stitch, it became apparent that the floss colors for the grass are all tan, light brown, and even yellow. This is a big shock and I think that I would prefer that the colors be more similar to the photograph. Right now, I am hoping that as more of the piece is stitched the other colors will make the grass look a little more green. Stitching the palm tree has already toned down the tan colors somewhat, so for now I am crossing my fingers that I will like the finished product.
